Warning: There are other forums and review sites out there offering a “place for regular people to review Doctor Who media” and claiming to not have bias, special interest or even affiliation with the BBC or Big Finish (same thing, politically at this point in 2018). Our audit, which in all cases complied with terms and yet expressed simple opinion or reviews including hard facts, revealed that reviews and eventually ALL accounts were eventually terminated that persisted in non-flattering review and criticism.
RATING SCALE
The rating scale is a simple 3-star whole integer scale, and based primarily on the writing.
1-STAR: Poor. Failure. / 2-STAR: Mediocre. Passable. / 3-STAR: Good. Valued. / 4-STAR: Excellent. Highlight. 5-STAR: Masterpiece. Big Finish significance.
BIG FINISH: Generally the actors are top-notch, the audio production is usually sufficient with occasional excellence, yet more rarely blunder. The main element and that I have found after purchasing and listening to hundreds of audioplay comes down to writing, which can be either great or absolutely dreadful (imbued with intense bigoted politics or writers focused on anything but Doctor Who-related canonically relative stories).
There is often little middle-ground unfortunately and this review guide will hopefully aid those in sifting through the literal trash and treasure, especially to those looking for CLASSIC Doctor Who stories and open to NEW expanded characters and stories that envelop proper science-fiction and speculative entertainment relative to Time & Space.
